Give BSL the Recognition It Deserves in Scotland's Schools!

BSL Translation

On 23 April 2025, the Scottish Parliament will debate the Education (Scotland) Bill, including crucial amendments to recognise British Sign Language (BSL). This is a historic moment for deaf children, young people, and their families – but we need your support to make it happen!

The Scottish Government has already acknowledged that BSL should be included in the bill, thanks to the incredible efforts of campaigners like you. But nothing is guaranteed – we must keep up the pressure to ensure MSPs vote for these amendments.

By signing this petition, you're sending a clear message to Scottish MSPs to:

  • Recognise BSL so deaf children have the same opportunities as their peers.
  • Ensure BSL is properly supported in schools to help future generations of learners and users.
  • Show Scotland is committed to inclusion and accessibility for the deaf community.

We are so close to achieving real change, but we need your voice!

Sign now and help secure a better future for deaf children and families in Scotland.
